Safety is a #1 priority for the Club!
Attention, cold-weather sharpshooters and weekend warriors! āļø
Winterās in full swing, and we want everyone enjoying our ranges safelyāno slips, no spills, no thrills we didnāt sign up for. So bundle up, listen up, and follow these winter-smart ground rules:
āļø Clear heads only ā Keep the hot cocoa flowing, but leave the spirits behind. No alcohol before or during shooting. Cold weather demands full focus.
𧤠Dress for the season & the range ā Eye and ear protection are mandatory in all shooting areas. Gloves, traction-friendly boots, and weather-appropriate layers are highly encouraged.
šÆ Shoot smart, shoot safe ā This isnāt the Wild West. Follow proper shooting practices at all times, and never shoot at steel poles, trees, or unapproved targets unless itās part of a club-sponsored event.
š§ Mind your footing ā Stay on designated firing lines. Snow and ice can be sneakyāno wandering downrange or moving toward targets until the range is officially clear.
š« No big-caliber surprises ā Follow all caliber restrictions for each range. Winter doesnāt change the rules.
šØāš©āš§ Junior shooters need backup ā Young gunslingers must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
š Clubhouse is a warm zone, not a shooting zone ā Please do not shoot from the clubhouse or toward structures of any kind.
Remember, winter safety is just as important as range safetyāthey go hand in hand. Letās watch out for each other, respect the conditions, and keep our winter shooting safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone! āļøšÆ
āļø LIFE-SAVING GEAR ā KNOW BEFORE YOU NEED IT āļø
Winter conditions can add extra challenges, so knowing where emergency equipment is located is more important than ever. If an accident occurs, one person should stay with the injured individual while another retrieves the necessary equipment.
You all mean the world to us, and your safety is a top priority. Thatās why the Club is stocked with essential, life-saving gear designed to be accessibleāeven in cold and snowy conditions.
š« AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillators)
We have two AED units available year-round:
⢠One located along the hallway to the restrooms
⢠One portable AED in a carrying case just inside the clubhouse door near the fireplace
š§° Medical Supply Location
A large orange, locked medical supply box is located beside the AED near the campfire. If you have medical training and need access to these supplies, please contact Faye Sabina.
š CPR / First Aid Training
Interested in learning life-saving skills? Reach out to Faye Sabina for CPR and First Aid training information. Weāre planning a class this springāa great way to prepare before the next busy season.
𩺠New Winter-Ready Safety Additions
To ensure help is available where injuries are most likely to occur, especially in icy or slippery conditions, the Club has installed white, waterproof safety boxes at:
⢠Pistol range pavilions
⢠Rifle range pavilions
⢠Trap #1 and Trap #2 pavilions
Each box contains:
āļø Two Trauma Kits- to open a trauma kit, pull the top tab to keep the package intact. This package wrapper can be used for any type of chest trauma along with the duct tape included in the kit.
āļø One Tourniquet
These supplies are designed to withstand all weather and allow immediate care to begināeven if you are aloneāwhile waiting for help to arrive.
