Mars Precision Rifle Match (PCB/NRL22) Sunday, April 26, 2026. Ranges closed till 5 PM
This is precision shooting at its best. Come out and see what all the hype is about. .22LR precision rifle matches, often held under the Precision Rifle Series (PRS22) or National Rifle League (NRL) 22 sanctioning bodies, are tactical shooting competitions. They involve shooting steel or paper targets from diverse, often awkward positions at distances typically ranging from 25 to 300+ yards under tight time constraints, emphasizing wind calls and positional stability.
Key Aspects of .22LR Precision Matches:
- Cost & Training: These matches offer a cost-effective way to train for long-range centerfire shooting with minimal recoil.
- Matches & Competition: Matches consist of multiple stages (often 5-10), requiring shooters to engage targets from barricades, props, or prone.
- Distance & Target: Distances generally range from 25 to 300+ yards, making them ideal for smaller ranges.
- Required Equipment: A precise bolt-action or semi-auto .22LR rifle (e.g., CZ 457, Bergara BMR-X, or Ruger Precision Rimfire) with a first focal plane (FFP) scope is typical.
- Matches usually end by early afternoon, with 9-12 rounds per stage typically requiring about 150-200 rounds per match.
