Concealed Carry Seminar Wednesday, 2/25/2026 at 6:30 PM @ MRGC. Sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstein and presented by Jim Stoker of FOAC. Please RSVP by Filing a “Contact Us” form (top of page)
Concealed carry (CCW) is the practice of carrying a handgun or other weapon discreetly, hidden from public view, usually under clothing, requiring a permit (License to Carry, LTC, etc.) after background checks, and is governed by strict state and federal laws, with restrictions on location (schools, courthouses, etc.) even with a license, and has different rules for residents vs. non-residents.
The seminars are typically about 3- 4 hours long,  The following topics will be covered:  sources of law, defining firearms by law, when do you need a license to carry firearms, what to do when you encounter law enforcement, where you can or cannot carry, reciprocity, use of force, presumptions of threat, stand your ground, castle doctrine, liability, what to expect if you must use your firearm in self-defense and what types of firearms are best for defense. If time permits, he may show some videos of why we suggest things the way we do.Â
At the end of each seminar, there will be time for some Q & A time for attendees. We are checking to see if there will be a representative from the Sheriff’s office present. Also, we are also checking to see if our local Game Warden will be available. If nothing else, copies of the license applications for residents to complete will be present. This seminar is open to the public
Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to marsrodandgunclub@gmail.com if planning on attending.
